Well Spine already blew this one up so I can’t claim it, but last time y’all sharks straight up BIT my commentary on Prodigy’s video, sickle-cell n’ alcohol comments and all.
In an effort to erase the memory of Blood Money from our collective minds, Prodigy continues his streak of grimy hood videos, to persistently entertaining results. This time, he wrecks a pimped out Alchemist beat with a Biggie hook and Busta Rhyme’s “New York Shit” rhymes scheme and subject matter. Not exactly the most original track in the world, but I’d rather hear this than Busta’s joint which was a Diamond D rip off itself. Besides, what’s important is that a second Mobb track this year actually captured that East-Coast feeling. I don’t think anyone expected that. Frankly, if P keeps dropping flicks like these I may even get my hopes up for HNIC2. Although he may want to forgo sampling 2Pac lest someone hears this who was actually around back then.
Tomorrow: Hip-Hop dies! Or I make fun of Jeezy and Weezy. Depends how I’m feeling.

I’m glad about whatever it was that sparked this… 3 ghosts like in a christmas carol? The internet crapping on Mobb Deep’s memory? The NYOIL song?

1. The new pee songs/videos are lovely
2. Get used to his fly flows over rehased ripoff beats, it’s all you’re gonna get when you have Alchemist doing so many cuts for Prodigy.
3. ALC’s ripoffs are better than his OG’s, though so eh, word
4. Everybody is shitting on the Mobb and NY in general, so it’s no surprise Bananaclip Pee would come hard like this. It hurts a motherfucker’s pride to be on G-Unit, only do gold, and have weak shit from the South owning the spotlight once reserved for the 5 boroughs.

Speaking of sickle cell, if T-Boz couldn’t handle Mack 10, then why should I believe that Prodigy can?
