Every one of the recent Internets Celebrities videos from Sundance we did ended with a variation on this graphic by agent b:

Today, Gawker’s First Responders series uses this remarkably similar graphic for their hip-hop blogger (T.A.N.) man-on-the-street video.

What do you think? Is Gawker a biter or a writer?

As long as we’re looking back at the Internets Celebrities series, lets revisit episode 6 just for the hell of it.

  2. I don’t know if that’s a straight bite or what. What I do know is that those two guys look about 50% happier than you and Dallas. It’s almost like they’re in Heaven, with the brightly colored background, beams of light, wings and smiles, and you guys are in Hell, with the dark, swirly red backdrop and apathetic scowls. So I’m gonna say it’s neither a bite nor a homage, but a statement of diametrically opposed metaphysical philosophies. They’ve clearly sided with Jesus in the impending war for the souls of all bloggerdom.

  5. Eh. Don’t think anyone’s inventing the wheel here. More like we’re using similar tires, or something. I’d say two heads on a caduceus (new word Billy Sunday, make a note of it) is a pretty significant jump from your presentation. Before even getting into the purple and yellow sunsplash.

    Never actually saw these videos before today, but nice work.

  10. Well, I can see where you’re coming from but the copy n paste peoples’ head onto shit isn’t that original to begin with. But it’s quite obvious that those 2 dudes are kind of wack so they may be biting off of yall.

    but on to the real issue:

    Is James Brown saying “ka-razy” or “ka-razor”?

    For most of my life, I assumed it was the former, but a few years ago, I changed my mind. Now I’m convinced, it’s the latter. Black folks need to decide on this shit so Brother James can rest in peace.
