This Last Week In Blogging

All week, I share noteworthy links which can be found in the sidebar of this blog or can be subscribed to as its own feed:

Oh Word’s Shared Items from around the Web

I try to list the best of these or ones worth commenting on at the end of every week. These best-of posts are called t.w.i.b. for “This Week In Blogging”.

I’m crazy late with this one which is why you’ll see all the things you got sick of last week like Imus and tax talk mentioned below.

I’ll try to actually hit Friday for the next one.

Peace

“Cloudwalker”, a work in progress at Scritch and Scratch

Conservative pundit Michelle Malkin gives popular hip-hop a royal sonning. P3WNED!

Happy Belated Jackie Robinson Day

Jason Whitlock thinks Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are great black leaders … for him to poop on! Whitlock also shows himself to be a good “separated at birth” match for Bol.

MF Doom – A to Z. A bunch of rare Doom treats. The post goes against its own apparent concept by ignoring nearly half the alphabet.

Spine Magazine finally offers RSS feed. They still kinda get it wrong though – using date and contributor for item title and the generic SpineMag url for the item link. It’s a start but still I can’t automatically share Spine Magazine items in the sidebar.

Passion of the Weiss gets underground with Black Milk and Marco Polo and even more underground with Clean Guns and Jamie Radford.

Clean Guns is blowing up the hip-hop blogs this week – showing up at Passion of the Weiss, Straight Bangin’ and Zilla was also the subject of an interview at 33Jones. Big things!

Req looks back at “Deja Vu”, the unreleased Nas song that was the original home for the verse that would later show up on “Verbal Intercourse” off OB4CL.

Sweet Soul Samples from Souled On

Couch Sessions salutes two recent music videos.

Can I Bring My Gat talks to Lyrics Born

From cooking crack to just plain cooking, and the economics of two kitchens.

Cool Kids, Retro Kids living life in post-1980s denial.

Souled On again? Again and again…

Like all photographs, Migrant Mother is neither truth nor fiction but somewhere in-between.

This “Rock The Bells” documentary sounds pretty damn interesting.

Vik with depressing news about where your tax dollars go.

I’m Special Ed, who the hell are you?

Slow week. That Imus stuff was exhausting.

  2. Rafi:

Did I send you a copy of the Clean Guns mixtape yet? If not, get at me. I think you guys will love it.

Peace and thanks for the shoutout!

  3. Y’know you can use Feedburner to create a weekly or once daily email of your shared items that people can subscribe to.

Not as fun as your weekly post, but it will never be late again.

  4. Thanks Hashim,

    They already have that option.

See the link at top of this post. I’ll integrate it into the site better shortly.
