Here at OhWord, we feel your pain. We’ve been so overworked with our pesky day jobs and side projects that we’ve outsourced our playlist generating tasks. Fortunately our friend L. Marauder came through for us and constructed a playlist to elevate our minds and lower our hypertensions at the same time. Peep and enjoy:
“Music is my medicine.
When I asked a couple peeps what specific tracks they listen to when they’re stressed-out, I didn’t really get much of a response. I think it’s due to the fact that most people bump a range of music in their library after a hard-ass day and feel content with it, while it may not even refer to stress at all. Music is simply our sense of escape from the everyday routine we get so caught up in. Through the narratives of these emcees we’re able to glimpse into their lives and the everyday trial and tribulations they experience, which ultimately is no different from our own… And somehow listening to their stories helps us to cope with our own personal struggles. To deter this compilation from being too broad, I tried to select tracks that directly refer to “stress” in the rhymes.”

Day jobs are wack. Does this busy schedule of everyone’s mean we won’t be getting anything as entertaining as the GBM video or Cam’s lost rhyme book for a while?

Ninoy Brown – never fear. Time is hard on the boulevard but the OhWord crew can’t stop, we won’t stop … we don’t even know the definition of the word. We do take frequent leaves of absence however, but you should have known what you were getting into when you first came around the way!
